We are excited to announce the 11th Annual Conference of the Society for Decision Making Under Deep Uncertainty (DMDU) which will take place from November 19th to 21st. It will be hosted by University of Denver in Colorado, USA, with support from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. The theme of this year’s conference is “Bridging the gap between modeling and decisions: how can DMDU techniques better support decision makers?”.

This year, we would like to emphasize the simplification and translation of DMDU modeling results in a way that is digestible and actionable by decision makers. While DMDU techniques are built for decision support, there is still a gap between the modeling process and the world of decision makers. Do we need to simplify results at the cost of completeness or nuance? Do we need to better embed decision makers in the modeling process, and if so, how? How do we build compelling narratives that translate the sometimes complex results and implications of DMDU methods into more readily accessible formats?

Registration for the annual meeting is now open to all members, including non-speakers: https://crimsonconnect.du.edu/KOR/rsvp_boot?id=2263908
